Boone Excavation is built on a foundation deeper than most. Cole Quintrell grew up in Blue Ridge, the grandson of Roy Quintrell — a developer who shaped North Georgia with landmark projects like My Mountain and Mountain Tops. Cole was in big equipment before most kids could ride a bike.
He went on to spend years in land reclamation, then rose to executive level at a large-scale construction company. He knows this industry from every angle — the equipment, the crews, and the business. Eventually, the mountains called him home. He came home to Blue Ridge — to his people, his mountains, and the work he’s always loved.
The Quintrell name has been shaping North Georgia land for three generations. Cole came home to carry that forward — on his own terms, with his own crew, in the mountains he never really left.

Cole Quintrell is a Blue Ridge native whose roots in construction run as deep as the red clay he grew up working. His grandfather, Roy Quintrell, was one of North Georgia’s most respected developers — the man behind landmark projects like My Mountain and Mountain Tops, and dozens of other large-scale developments that defined the region for a generation.
Cole didn’t just inherit the legacy — he earned it. He’s been in big equipment since he could walk, learning the land from the seat of a machine before most people learn it from a textbook. He went on to spend years in the land reclamation business, taking on complex, large-scale terrain restoration projects that most contractors won’t touch. From there, he climbed to an executive role at a major construction company — running operations, managing crews, and understanding the full scope of what it takes to deliver at scale.
But the corporate life has a ceiling that the mountains don’t. After years at the top of a large organization, Cole made the deliberate choice to come home. Back to Blue Ridge. Back to the work he’s always loved. Back to the slower pace, the clean air, and the kind of job where you shake hands with the person hiring you and actually do the work yourself.
He was never the kind of executive who sat behind a desk. Cole was always in the field, on the job site, running the work. Coming home to Blue Ridge just meant doing it on his own terms.
He named the company after his golden retriever, Boone. Loyalty. Hard work. Showing up every day without being asked. That’s the dog. That’s the brand. That’s Cole Quintrell.
And then something happened that says everything about who he is: many of his old crew came back to work with him.
